Trust Me
Trust me is the message President Putin continues to sell to the Russian people. He just got back an arms dealer in exchange for a basketball player. He continues to barter for an assassin who executed a man in public, in exchange for innocent old Whelan.
An expert in Moscow says that dreams of Russia’s arms factories not being able to produce high end weapons are a grave nightmare yet to be realized. He says the people are mobilizing for war.
Ukraine has taken on the responsibility of attacking Russia inside its borders. Or it could be a terrorist organization has been planning attacks to further escalate the violence. Either way no one’s saying anything while a confidence builds pulling NATO into invading Russia to end its way of thinking and its nuclear options.
The sentiment being that Russia can become another Germany or Japan. Aggressive states that were pacified into leading through diplomatic efforts. We could once again compete with a friendly member of the international community.
Cynically these were also two economic booms for an economy dependent on opening new markets. Developers want to maximize the potential of Russia as one who’s already built America from coast to coast. Multinational corporations see beyond ethnic boundaries to the unifying concept of strip malls and gas stations. Across every time zone from Moscow to the Bering Sea there should be sports complexes raising up untapped talent for a chance in the major leagues.
However, this could be a fatal outlook when dealing with cavemen used to butchering members of a different tribe. We might not be able to understand.
Let’s go back to the prisoner swap. Griner for an arms dealer. An arms dealer who can get weapons for a country that’s in need during a war that could soon escalate into something we’ve all feared. Or like the Coronavirus it just becomes something we’re accustomed to dealing with; or a more fitting metaphor, war like mass shootings.
Griner like most black woman see a war with Russia the same as living in the United States. Either way they’re going to be surrounded by a racist society that they must master through aspiring to the higher ideal. While some say she’s just a basketball player; others could say she’s more like Gandhi.
That’s why Putin might see this as a double win, getting her out of a Russian prison and of course the return of his arms dealer in a time of war.
Griner has a responsibility now that’s not clear to understand at this time. Possibly Vice President Harris sees her political value moving forward as she takes on more leadership in the years ahead with an inside track to becoming Commander-in-Chief. BLM on an international stage with a country that made its own people slaves. Even so, it could be made about optics.
Where does from A to Z stand? We’re glad the French President left America to sign a Hydrogen line deal with Spain. That’s the way to go even for Russia and China. Eventually fossil fuel runs out even if we can survive its environmental impacts. Hydrogen seems like the next best step unless another technology gets developed.
