The Moment We’ve Been Waiting For
From A to Z, The Lords of Hemp, and our many partners around the globe have been anxiously awaiting the announcement of President Xi’s visit to Moscow, to meet with President Putin.
At first this visit seemed as if it might not happen. There seemed to be some mistrust in flying over thousands of miles of Russian airspace from Xi’s perspective. He becomes vulnerable to this partner state that China has just now gained an edge over in the technological military standpoint. An accident in snow covered Ural mountains could be the event Russia needs to launch nuclear missiles at Beijing. In one-night Russia could conquer this rising superpower to cement their place on the world stage.
Or this could be seen in the eyes of historians as the move of a desperate war criminal now wanted by Interpole for crimes against humanity.
It remains to be seen how ruthless the Russians really are because if they’re truly evil then they’ll make a move on China, otherwise there remains hope for diplomacy. This conflict could later be seen as the fight for new trade routes that connected the inner regions of Eurasia with India, the Middle East, and Africa through modern roadways.
The Russian theories of land based and sea based powers playing out through the creation of this new economy on land, cutting down on sea traffic and the need for ports. A new global power structure could ensue with the potential generated through the commerce of large populations of humans on the planet without colonial powers that have created the current world order through shipping lanes. A country like Kazakhstan could become the new global hub replacing the United States. It creates a geopolitical reality where nations in this region can freely trade and communicate without Western influence. The current disruptions created by Western global communication routes on shorelines could be replaced with more direct energy efficient paths on land.
This accomplishment would give Russia and China what they want while remaining in peaceful relations with Western countries. They could remain a second world order that can produce and innovate at the same pace if not faster. It would allow for a bipolar world to exist without immediate destruction. It could allow the fossil fuel industry to continue in its form without fear of sanctions cutting into trade for future environmental reasons beyond regional disputes with the United Nations.
These new updated trade routes along the historic Silk Road would also help them to bolster their case for Western aggression. Because the argument for international borders on the sea and in the air would then become arguments over a nation’s territory because they are connected on land. It would make it clear the United States became a global superpower because it leveraged its geographic location and long shorelines to become the hub of global trade. China and Russia lack this on their own yet together they can rival this global order through a new concentration of global trade.
There seems to be no issue with this course of global infrastructure development. Unless Russia is right in their propaganda that the West wants to maintain its hegemony. China and some other countries like Iran might also see things this way. Being connected through upgraded routes on land in the future these economies can trade freely without Western interference. If the West intervenes then they could win their argument in the United Nations.
Or another possible reason China and Russia grew as nations was because of protected trade routes in international borders through the expense of the United States to maintain. One interpretation being that regional warlords make expanding roadways to Western standards for trade in Eurasia impossible because they create more opportunities for terrorists to strike soft targets. While these countries have built powerful militaries using America in the meantime to guarantee their safety; if suddenly thrust into the leadership role they might see small bands of terrorist organizations limit their sphere of influence and cause constant disruptions to supply chains.
Once again it all remains to be seen as President Xi prepares to step foot in the Kremlin and the announcements that might be made. He’s also said to be calling on the President of Ukraine afterwards. It’s going to be a major week with the possibilities for dynamic change in this conflict.
Thank you,
