Just like them young people in the photo.
That meeting is supposed to be against the law now. They had no hassle from the police, and just did their own thing.
I am not even from Poland, I am a world citizen from the UK. England (Birmingham).
As I said in an earlier post I had to go and register my stay in Poland to get a right to stay.
I have to prove I have been here 7 years. That part is easy. Everyone knows me here.
My good lady and I brought the government building lobby to a standstill by not complying with a request to get face (eye) retina recognition and temperature checked by said laser device.
I could feel the frustration in the grumpy security guards voice, I could see it on his face.
But bend he did. He was not used to getting challenged by anyone.
The building manager came up with a solution to temperature check us via a hand held device on our wrists.
If we all just do not bend over and comply it gets better.
At one point there was the woman that needed to interview me in the lobby, building manager, security guard and 5 members of staff watching on. 8 people doing nothing because we would not comply. They gave in before we did.
The more you give the more anyone will take. And that is where we are at now.
Now having watched many videos of order followers like this security guard who is "just following orders" I know we can all do much better than this.
Changing the guard via voting.
Now the problem with voting in this system is 4 years later a Trump goes, vote for change comes, a Biden comes but nothing really changes does it? The all inclusive progressive liberals that have banned Dr seuss drop as many bombs as the former man, who dropped more bombs than Obama and one of them bombers got a Nobel peace prize, some joke that hey.
We need a better system and one that concentrates on devolution.
Devolution is the only solution.
Devolution is not the opposite of evolution, it is merely getting rid of centralized power.
Sure we could have a centralized committee of people advising on things like energy, education and anything else. Experts in their field. But the key word is advising not telling.
Sure we could rotate said committee so it does not become compromised too.
Then we could have a system of local power, local people deciding what the local community needs, road repairs, more lighting or what ever it is a local community decides at a local level.
Ending taxation. That part is easy but the hardest part is getting into power to end central government. Hard but not impossible.
I can cite Ukraine as an example of that with the comedian (real one) that got voted into power that disbanded government a few years ago.
If we offered a no taxation system, none totalitarian (like now) system do you not think most people would go for it?
Transparency.
Something so badly missing from the current political scene. Even documents are redacted in the name of "national security"
I envision a blockchain voting system on all matters, so every vote can be traced.
I envision a system where people, everyone, gets a vote on everything and nothing is hidden from plain sight.
Local banks backed by resources. Not money printed from thin air that is shared interest free with billionaires so that the plebs have to pay interest on it.
Like the pre 1974 model in Canada, banks for the people owned by the people not the faceless IMF or world bank.
Police abuse of power.
I think it matters not where you live but they do abuse their power.
In Thailand I could get away with anything if I was willing to bribe a police officer. I even got a guy locked up for 2 days for saying he had paid to get me killed, that cost me £50.
Here in Poland the police act as taxation agents mainly looking for victims that drive so they can extort cash from them, the UK is no better.
Local people doing policing is much more effective.
Here in Poland they have private security that walk the streets looking very police like but they do not hassle people for their hard earned already taxed money. They just walk around making people feel safer. It works 50 times better than any police car that is hidden with a taxation speed camera.
They are far more approachable, much more reasonable and pleasant so there is living proof we can do better.
If we policed like this the latter with local people that locals could hold to account would we not have a better more balanced system than one of violent out of control police with guns and no training.
Power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.
I have a thousand more other things I could add to this post but not the time to add them due to current circumstances. But I would love to keep this conversation going so will try to add to it daily in the PM with one post a day on this topic.
Please do join in with thoughts as my logic is not fixed, it is flexible and this is about us all not just me. And flexibility is a key to getting this right first time.
Have a superb day, I look forward to any ideas or comments.
