Believe me that there is a much bigger picture surrounding the events that unfold between Epstein and Trump, but not to complicate matters, to get to the real truth behind the Epstein-Trump friendship split, I am going to lay it out in the most simplistic form, as it couldn't be any clearer at all what that split was really all about. I am not going, at this time, to say anything related to what Trump has/had said, anything related to Epstein or what he or anyone else said, I am going to lay bare the fact, the undeniable truth to it all. I am not going to make any comments, any accusations, any assumptions. I am just going to offer the truth as it unfolded.
Abe Gosman, who owned the real estate property that Trump and Epstein had a falling out over, filed chapter 11 personal bankruptcy in 2001.
Abe Gosman was a friend of Jeffrey Epstein's, and Les Wexner, the former owner of the home that Gosman bought the property from. Abe Gosman, if he sold the property during his chapter 11 bankruptcy, wanted to see it go to someone who'd maintain it architectural and historical features so he signed a pre-agreement of sale to Jeffrey Epstein.
In 2003 Gosman's chapter 11 reorganization failed and it went into a chapter 7 liquidation, whereas the property and whatever else of Gosman's fortune would be sold off. This opened the door for anyone to bid on the property.
On November 21, 2004, Trump filed chapter 11 bankruptcy on the Trump Hotels and Casino Resorts, The Trump Taj Mahal, (which would be his second on the Taj Mahal), and two dozen other affiliated Trump companies file in New Jersey.
From the US Bankruptcy court for the District of Delaware: On November 21, 2004, TER's predecessor entity, Trump Hotel and Casino Resorts, Inc., together with twenty eight affiliates and subsidiaries (collectively the 2004 debtors), filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions in the US BC for the district of New Jersey. On November 30, 2004, the estate of Abe Gosman went up for auction. Trump outbid Jeffrey Epstein for the property.
On April 5, 2005, the bankruptcy court entered an order confirming a chapter 11 plan of reorganization with respect to the 2004 debtors, and on May 20, 2005, the plan became effective.
In 2008 Trump sold the property for ninety five million to Dmitry Ryboloulev, a record price, the sale came months after Trump Entertainment Resorts file for chapter 11 bankruptcy and while Trump struggled to find banks willing to lend to him. Ryboloulev than sold it off in lots through offshore companies.
On March 17, 2009, the bankruptcy court issued it's final decree and order closing the 2004 Trump Casino and Resort chapter 11 cases.
Consequently, on February 17, 2009, Trump Entertainment Resorts and it's direct and indirect subsidiaries, (collectively the 2009 debtors) filed voluntary chapter 11 petitions in the US BC for the district of New Jersey. (case number 09-13654) (JHW) (the 2009 cases)
On May 7, 2010, the bankruptcy court entered an order (the "2010 confirmation order") confirming a chapter 11 plan of reorganization with respect to 2009 debtors. (the "2010 plan") and on July 16, 2010, the 2010 plan becomes effective.
On January 10, 2012, the bankruptcy court issued it's final decree and order closing the 2009 cases.
Trump would go on to file bankruptcy again in 2014. There is a lot more information on events that occurred in and around those times, but the overall objective in this post is to show the biggest reason a person would cheat a decades long friend.
