Hi my name is Publius, writing under @TheEmerald. This is my open letter to my Law School after they denied my medical vaccine exemption and my thoughts around the encroaching tyranny.
Dear Law School,
"I am slave to no one way of thought and I am not a slave to a degree, money, or an illusion of credibility by having “J.D.” at the end of my name. True wealth in life is having the freedom to say “no” without fear of hardship or reprisal. I am faced with both.
I make the decision to take a leave of absence to make a small difference as a student and as a community member to send a clear message to my Law School that I don’t support their unilateral mandate by threat of livelihood. Especially when they deny students informed consent and valid medical and religious exemptions.
Today, I stand with those who feel they have no choice in this matter. I stand with those who are paralyzed in fear and are afraid to speak out. I stand with those ostracized by friends and family. I stand with those advocating for the dignity of the vaccinated and unvaccinated regardless of status. I stand with all those, past and present, who have been segregated from society for who they are, what they believe, and who they choose to be. Although labels change, the discrimination, blind community participation, and unequal protection under the law stays the same. Tyranny has come to rise and fall in its many forms throughout time and brave men and women have always showed up to overcome it.
This is not the end. This is just part of the story. And I will continue on as this experience drives and adds new purpose and direction in my life. I hope to take on these challenges so one day my son never has to be treated differently based on what medical treatments he has or has not received.
My intent as an attorney is to help others in need and to help let the muzzled doctors, scientists, mathematicians, lawyers, journalists, judges, businessmen, inventors, engineers, teachers, nurses, and other esteemed members of society around the world to speak and be heard without threat of livelihood and reputation from the State. Robust scientific debate has been strangled by our government and corporate leaders in the name of profit, power, and control.
We deserve to hear the full truth, not carefully crafted, cherry-picked pieces of information. And we are most certainly entitled to informed consent. My Law School has denied answering, not even one, substantive question about potential risks and I take their silence as confirmation that they expect students to bear the burden of their administrative choices. I feel strong in my decision for I am not alone in this struggle for the freedom to choose what the government can inject into my body involuntarily.
I was a voiceless child at one time, and I will not be infantilized again, and gas lit in believing I am the problem when I have love in my heart for our struggling world. Every day there is a new reason to hate somebody, and I am here to tell you the unvaccinated are not the reason we are in this mess. How dare you, with you righteous indignation and moral superiority, place blame on innocent citizens, family members, and friends for blood that does not stain their hands.
Mulitple truths can exists at once. We can allow people freedom of choice about what’s injected into their bodies AND more effectively treat the sick and vulnerable to this virus.
What is selfish is wanting to control other people’s personal life decisions of which you’re not responsible for. There’s a reason someone once said, “give me liberty or give me death.” There is a reason thousands died for freedom after centuries of tyranny. There’s a reason hundreds of thousands are marching in the street around the world. Humans are free beings, period, and most would rather die without it. Life is full of dangers and safety is never guaranteed. A hard truth, but a fact of life.
So, the process continues for me to be a lawyer who strives for Truth no matter where it leads.
A goal of mine is to hold the corrupt accountable and remove conflicts of interest within industry to promote better products, policy, and innovation so that people around the world can prosper and live healthy, happy lives.
I do not strive to be a comfortable, corporatized lawyer but an advocate for change which is why I am making this bold decision to take the road less traveled. I want to advocate for the Darwin’s, Newton’s, Heisenberg’s, and Marshall’s of our world, the industry disruptors. Historically, revolutionary ideas are always outcasted and vilified by the mainstream scientific community before acceptance. So, my journey and future triumph are not yet complete. I will not go gently into that good night. I can’t be stopped."
