Juan Guaido may be a little further to the right than is commonly understood
For more than a decade the USG has been conducting operations in Venezuela to promote regime change there. After the death of Hugo Chavez on March 5th, 2013, Nicolas Maduro was elected to follow him as the President of Venezuela. Maduro had formerly served in other high level positions under Chavez.
According to Eva Gollinger, numerous attempts were made to assassinate Chavez by the United States, and his death is suspected to have been a successful assassination by the United States.
Maduro is reported to also have survived multiple assassination attempts during his Presidency that began in 2013 and continues today. Juan Gauido has attempted to establish himself as the rightful President in an ongoing coups against Maduro since January 2019, and the United States and other aligned countries have recognized Guaido as the Acting President.
Prior to claiming the Presidency, Guaido was elected as the Representative of Vargas, one of Venezuela's least populous states, in 2016 and had served as an alternate for his political party Popular Will, in opposition to the ruling party of Chavez and Maduro. He was not widely known in Venezuela, and made his claim on the Presidency after US Vice President Pence assured him of American support.
Although some of his features may be more recognizable than his face
In The Gray Zone, Max Blumenthal wrote extensively on Guaido's background, and states that Gauido was trained to destabilize Venezuela's government in Belgrade, Serbia beginning in 2005, by a group known as Otpor, who were connected to and funded by the United States' National Endowment for Democracy, an alternative to direct CIA funding.
Leaked documents from Stratfor, a private American intelligence service, indicate that direct funding from the CIA may have been provided years earlier to CANVAS, the group Gauido was a member of when he traveled to Serbia.
These details of Gauido's history and training are not widely reported by US news media. CNN states only that Guaido was active prior to 2016 when he was elected to Represent Vargas, and that when he declared himself the President of Venezuela, he had only been leading the opposition party for three weeks.
It is very informative to consider the differences between American media giant CNN and Max Blumenthal's descriptions of Gauido's involvement in Veneuelan politics. CNN makes no mention of Guaido's intimate connections to American intelligence services, in particular the CIA, despite this association being pertinent due to the continued belligerence and repeated assassination attempts on both Chavez and Maduro by the United States.
Long decades after US intelligence services have assassinated foreign heads of state, staged coups and installed puppet leaders, and otherwise destabilized sovereign governments without lawful authority, files confirming the United States has conducted such illegal activities have been declassified and became public information.
Previously the news media that covered up these crimes while they were being conducted have not been shown to be directly involved and participating, except consequent to such publication of formerly classified documents.

We can also see how American news services, like CNN, are acting to shield those actors and actions from visibility by the American people, on whose responsibility they are being effected.
I believe it was Nietzsche that pointed out when you gaze into the abyss, the abyss also gazes into you. It seems that agencies that surveil Americans, mislead us in order to get away with war crimes, lie to us, and feed us false information in the form of propaganda, are gazing into the abyss to find we citizen journalists there, and gazing right back at them, in real time, while they overthrow lawful and duly constituted, democratically elected governments of foreign nations.
It seems abundantly clear that this is exactly what is happening right now in Venezuela. Some people may not find overthrowing a communist dictatorship objectionable, or wrong at all, even if people die in the process. However, we know that the media have long been infiltrated by spies - government agents tasked with fooling us so they can get away with criminal acts. Operation Mockingbird has been known about since the Church Commission decried it in the 1970s. We also know that President Obama signed the NDAA in 2013 that reversed the prohibition (The Smith-Mundt Act) on pushing propaganda directly to the American people, and this legal fiction remains in effect today. Those of you that consider Venezuela a communist dictatorship need to carefully recall the sources that told you that, because it came almost certainly through Mockingbird media, and in the form of propaganda.
We've been lied to, to keep us from effecting our personal sovereign authority to govern ourselves, enshrined in the Constitution of the United States of America, to be misused criminally in ways that we would object to if we knew the truth. That's the only reason to lie to us about what is being done, and who it is being done to.
It is not lawful under the Constitution for the US government to lie to the American people. We are the source of the lawful authority that government wields, and we cannot be presumed to be willing to lie to ourselves to mislead us into committing acts of war. That would be criminally insane.
Unless you're criminally insane; if you're rational and competent legally to conduct your affairs, you are personally responsible and liable should you delegate to others your sovereign authority to cause crimes against humanity, war crimes, and genocide.
We have come to the point where we cannot be fooled into believing that these aren't the actions being taken, and we are aware of the fact that they're criminal, and are going to get people we have no right to kill, dead.
We can watch it happening in real time. We cannot pretend we don't know to legal or moral effect. We are the parties responsible for the actions taken on our behalf if we do not clearly and obviously state our refusal to be responsible for such acts.
I do not consent for my lawful authority to govern myself and my nation to be used to commit war crimes and overthrow the government the peoples of Venezuela have elected - just as we elect our own representatives and leaders in the United States.
