I was brought to deeponion when browsing through bitcointalk.org forum. Having some experience on TOR and onion sites before, the name "deeponion" caught my attention fast, reminiscing those days where i use TOR browser to access silk road onion sites. On the announcement page, i browsed through wallets, picking the webwallet as my choice since i don't have to download the whole blockchain. If i was aware of the staking feature at first, i would choose qt-wallet wisely.
At first, I don't realize how big the airdrop is, but i applied for the airdrop anyway.
The airdrop rule requires us to make at least 10 posts in a week. The airdrop is scheduled every friday. Unfortunately I applied on the most untimely day: thursday evening. I don't do burst posting, so I managed just 3 posts, making me unfit for airdrop.
On 2nd week, I was happy that I am part of the deeponion community and participated in discussions. Then something unexpected happened and changed my deeponion life forever - the webwallet hack!
August 13, onionwallet.org was hacked. The hacker stole almost all deeponion coins, including mine. I don't have much onions there, around 0.008 onions that was given during airdrop application. Upon the hacking incident, I found my airdrop status as blacklisted. I believe this hacking incident was the cause of my being blacklisted. Being blacklisted, I was unable to get my share of airdrop. Furthermore, there were some bounties that I can't join since they are for members who are not blacklisted.
Weeks passed by, I was still blacklisted. But it's not hindering me from participating in community discussions. I still find time to read the bitcointalk thread, and participate in some discussions in official forum.
There was a plan to create a Deeponion Webwallet again. I hope this time the security feature will be strong enough against hacking.
I hope one day I will be rejoining the airdrop program, as well as others who are deserving enough.
