Steemit has given me insight into what I consider to be a paradoxical personality flaw. Take a moment and consider what this means. I will try to illustrate, so don’t worry if after thinking you remain confused.
Let’s begin with my weakness for young and beautiful females (both girls and women). I’m sorry... I can’t help myself. With women it is easier for me to forgive their intellectual flaws. I simply like girls.
This is natural for me, and it seems to be natural for most other people. This natural perspective however violates my desire to treat others fairly.
What’s worse is that most women can be both flattered and offended by my behavior. They are flattered that I appreciate their youth and beauty, but offended that my behavior can appear sexually discriminatory. In fact bout are true. Again I am sorry.
The problem shows up when I do not treat the old and ugly with the same grace. Yes, the personality flaw is mine. I believe most men share the same flaw.
The paradox is there is no appropriate solution. It is not good to dislike someone because they are different than you. Everyone has a right to their own perspective regardless of the obvious mistakes.
The real problem is I hope I am not treated as I treat others. I fall into the old and ugly group. Time has broken me down.
