Hi Steemians,
This is my latest up-cycle project. It was completed about a year ago after purchasing a couple of vintage chairs from the 60's. I wanted to create something unique by painting the wood and re-upholstering the chair in a more ecclectic fabric. It was hard! Why I embark on these projects is beyond me sometimes:). The making of this chair is pictured below.
Removing the Upholstery
Painting the Wood Frame
The paints I used were from Annie Sloan's Chalk Paint series. I used Paris Grey and a little bit of watered down Graphite to create an antiqued finish.
Re-Upholstery
I took a re-upholstery class for this part:) It took about 8 weeks to complete. I used a navy blue velvet fabric for the back of the chair and the trim.
