Today a little elaboration of the trip from south to north of my journey across Spain before Christmas!
In the last article there were already some impressions from the mountains behind Madrid, to be exact from the Sierra Norte.
There were a few more pictures, but unfortunately as always not enough time to make a real visit to the important corners.
However, the small nice town Buitrago del Lozoya where I had a photo stop has a lot to offer, which makes a further visit advisable.
To be more precise, there is one of the 3 museums in which one can admire the artworks of the famous Andalusian painter Pablo Picasso, who was born in the beautiful city of Málaga. Here in the museum there is the Picasso collection of Eugenio Arias the former hairdresser and friend of Pablo Picasso.
But the small town with a little less than 2000 inhabitants also has other historical highlights to offer. It has a completely preserved ring of walls around the old town centre from the early Middle Ages, which has been declared a national monument.
Probably the original town was founded by the Romans around 190 B.C., but there are still some solid evidence missing, but there are many indications that it was like this.
Thus, you see there is a lot to see also around the Spanish capital, it is worthwhile to leave the normal ways, those who come here in the area should plan a visit, it is worthwhile. The best season for it might be the late spring or the beginning of summer, because in winter it is cold here and often snowed in, we are after all almost 1000 meters high here.

Heute ein wenig Ausarbeitung der Fahrt von Süd nach Nord meiner Reise quer durch Spanien vor Weihnachten!
Im letzten Beitrag gab es ja schon ein paar Eindrücke aus den Bergen hinter Madrid, um genau zu sein aus der Sierra Norte.
Es gab noch ein paar Bilder mehr, aber leider wie immer nicht genug Zeit um einen richtigen Besuch der wichtigen Ecken zu machen.
Allerdings hat das kleine nette Städtchen Buitrago del Lozoya wo ich einen Fotostop eingelegt hatte doch so einiges zu bieten, was einen weiteren Besuch angeraten erscheint lässt.
Genauer gesagt befindet sich hier eines der 3 Museen in denen man Kunstwerke des berühmten andalusischen Malers Pablo Picasso bewundern kann, der im schönen Malaga geboren wurde. Hier im Museum liegt die Picasso-Sammlung von Eugenio Arias dem ehemaligen Friseur und Freund von Pablo Picasso.
Aber das kleine etwas weniger als 2000 Einwohner zählende Städtchen hat auch noch historisch weitere Highlights zu bieten es verfügt über einen vollständig erhaltenen Mauerring um den alten Ortskern aus dem frühen Mittelalter, der zum Nationaldenkmal erklärt wurde.
Vermutlich wurde das ursprüngliche Städtchen von den Römer gegründet so um 190 vor Christus, es fehlen noch ein paar hieb und stichfeste Nachweise dafür aber vieles deutet darauf hin das es so war.

Ihr seht also es gibt vieles zu sehen auch rund um die spanische Hauptstadt herum, es lohnt sich mal die normalen Wege zu verlassen, wer hier in der Gegend mal vorbei kommt sollte einen Besuch einplanen, es lohnt sich. Die beste Jahreszeit dafür dürfte das späte Frühjahr oder der beginnende Sommer sein, denn im Winter ist es hier kalt und auch oft verschneit, wir sind immerhin fast 1000 Meter hoch hier.

Ahora una pequeña elaboración del viaje de sur a norte de mi viaje a través de España antes de Navidad!
En el último artículo ya había algunas impresiones de las montañas detrás de Madrid, concretamente de la Sierra Norte.
Hubo algunas fotos más, pero desafortunadamente, como siempre, no hubo tiempo suficiente para hacer una verdadera visita a los rincones importantes.
Sin embargo, el pequeño y bonito pueblo de Buitrago del Lozoya, donde tuve una parada fotográfica, tiene mucho que ofrecer, lo que hace recomendable una visita posterior.
Para ser más precisos, hay uno de los 3 museos en los que se pueden admirar las obras de arte del famoso pintor andaluz Pablo Picasso, que nació en la bella Málaga. Aquí en el museo se encuentra la colección de Picasso de Eugenio Arias, el antiguo peluquero y amigo de Pablo Picasso.
Pero la pequeña ciudad de poco menos de 2000 habitantes también tiene otros puntos de interés histórico que ofrecer. Tiene un anillo de murallas completamente conservado alrededor del casco antiguo de la ciudad desde la temprana Edad Media, que ha sido declarado monumento nacional.
