Der Fastensee ist ein Strandsee im Westen von Fehmarn zwischen Bojendorf und Westermarkelsdorf. Er hat keine Zuflüsse und wird durch Niederschlag und bei Sturmfluten durch Meerwasser gespeist das über die niedrige Nehrung schwappt.
Er ist ein beliebter Rastplatz für Zugvögel.
Fastensee is a beach lake in the west of Fehmarn between Bojendorf and Westermarkelsdorf. It has no tributaries and is fed by rainfall and, during storm tides, by sea water that sloshes over the low spit.
It is a popular resting place for migratory birds.
