2 days ago I posted an article on the future of privacy. There it says "A new generation of technologies promises to radically plow the landscape between private information and the public sphere."
One of these technology companies is Purism (wiki). Purism manufactures personal computing devices with a focus on software freedom, computer security, and Internet privacy. Besides hardware, they maintain PureOS, a Linux-based operating system along with Librem One, a suite of software as a service based on open standards.
In 2017 they announced a security and privacy-focused phone, the Librem 5. As I am very much interested in privacy and a bit in technology, in early 2019, I ordered a Librem 5 - as an "early bird". Scheduled delivery date should be end of 2019. As an early bird I could buy it at a heavy discount, but as the phone hadn't been completely developped at that point in time, I took the risk that it would take some months longer or that the phone would never go into production.
Then the company got difficulties with the technological development (typical startup woes) and the pandemic-induced supply chain problems (chip shortage, wiki). After 3 long years I finally got my phone early this year.
As 1 month ago I've become father of a beautiful daughter, I now don't have the time (or rather don't want to take the time) to deal with the complexities of a new Linux-based phone. Today I still think that Purism is a great company delivering premium privacy-focused products, but I now think that I have not enough interest and skills in technology and programming. Thus I'd like to sell this device.

I only used this device once and then I changed the passcode. Unfortunately, I forgot it (baby-related amnesia?). This means the device must be reset (reflashed) before use. This is described here:

vor 2 Tagen habe ich einen Artikel über die Zukunft der Privatsphäre gepostet. Dort heißt es: "Eine neue Generation von Technologien verspricht, die Landschaft zwischen privaten Informationen und der öffentlichen Sphäre radikal umzupflügen."
Eines dieser Technologieunternehmen ist Purism (wiki). Purism stellt PC-Geräte her und legt dabei den Schwerpunkt auf Softwarefreiheit, Computersicherheit und Datenschutz/Privacy im Internet. Neben der Hardware unterhält das Unternehmen PureOS, ein Linux-basiertes Betriebssystem, sowie Librem One, eine auf offenen Standards basierende Software-as-a-Service-Suite.
2017 kündigten sie ein auf Sicherheit und Privacy fokussiertes Telefon an, das Librem 5. Da ich mich sehr für Datenschutz und etwas für Technik interessiere, habe ich Anfang 2019 ein Librem 5 bestellt - als "Early Bird". Geplanter Liefertermin sollte Ende 2019 sein. Als "early bird" konnte ich es mit einem grossen Rabatt kaufen, aber da das Telefon zu diesem Zeitpunkt noch nicht vollständig entwickelt war, ging ich das Risiko ein, dass es einige Monate länger dauern würde oder dass das Telefon nie in Produktion gehen würde.
Dann bekam das Unternehmen Schwierigkeiten bei der technologischen Entwicklung (typische Startup-Probleme) und pandemiebedingte Lieferkettenprobleme (Chipmangel, wiki). Nach 3 langen Jahren habe ich Anfang dieses Jahres endlich mein Telefon bekommen.
Da ich vor einem Monat Vater einer Tochter geworden bin, habe ich nun keine Zeit (oder, besser gesagt, keine Lust), mich mit der Komplexität eines neuen Linux-basierten Telefons zu beschäftigen. Heute bin ich immer noch der Meinung, dass Purism ein tolles Unternehmen ist, das erstklassige, auf den Schutz der Privatsphäre ausgerichtete Produkte anbietet, aber ich denke jetzt, dass ich nicht genug Interesse und Fähigkeiten in Sachen Technologie und Programmierung habe. Daher möchte ich dieses Gerät verkaufen.
Wenn Ihr Interesse habt, lasst es mich einfach wissen. Wenn Ihr jemanden kennt, der daran interessiert sein könnte (Programmierer/Entwickler), würde ich mich freuen, wenn Ihr diesen Post an ihn/sie weiterleiten könntet (im Erfolgsfall gibts natürlich eine Provision).

Una de estas empresas tecnológicas es Purism (wiki. Purism fabrica dispositivos informáticos personales centrados en la libertad del software, la seguridad informática y la privacidad en Internet. Además del hardware, mantienen PureOS, un sistema operativo basado en Linux junto con Librem One, un conjunto de software como servicio basado en estándares abiertos.
En 2017 anunciaron un teléfono centrado en la seguridad y la privacidad, el Librem 5. Como estoy muy interesado en la privacidad y un poco en la tecnología, a principios de 2019, pedí un Librem 5 - como "early bird". La fecha de entrega prevista debería ser a finales de 2019. Como madrugador pude comprarlo con un gran descuento, pero como el teléfono no había sido completamente desarrollado en ese momento, asumí el riesgo de que tardara algunos meses más o que el teléfono nunca entrara en producción.
Luego, la empresa tuvo dificultades con el desarrollo tecnológico (los típicos problemas de las startups) y los problemas de la cadena de suministro inducidos por la pandemia (escasez de chips, wiki). Después de 3 largos años, finalmente recibí mi teléfono a principios de este año.
Como hace 1 mes me he convertido en padre de una hermosa hija, ahora no tengo el tiempo (o más bien no quiero tomar el tiempo) para hacer frente a las complejidades de un nuevo teléfono basado en Linux. Hoy en día sigo pensando que Purism es una gran empresa que ofrece productos de primera calidad centrados en la privacidad, pero ahora creo que no tengo suficiente interés y habilidades en tecnología y programación. Por lo tanto, me gustaría vender este dispositivo.
