The weakness of the little Grand Duke of Moscow

Dear Hiveans,

Today a short post on Wladimir Wladimirowitsch Putin or what I call him „the little Grand Duke of Moscow who is still allowed to have a colonial empire“.

Dictators and tyrants often have weak, neurotic and fragile personalities. They are highly dependent on exercising power over other people to receive attention and fear. Though they exhibit common adult cognition, they have hopelessly immature emotional responses.

I am not a psychologist, but I don`t think that such a formal qualification is necessary to identify a deep inferiority complex for Putin. He is a strongman, and quite the opposite of a strong man.

A self-confident man does certainly not need to portray himself as an epitome of masculinity.

There is the story of Merkel visiting Putin in Russia. Knowing that Merkel has a "deep-seated fear of dogs", Putin let his dog into the room with Merkel who felt very uncomfortable.

Merkel on Putin:
"I understand why he has to do this — to prove he's a man," Merkel said. "He's afraid of his own weakness. Russia has nothing, no successful politics or economy. All they have is this." (source)

The problem with a man who is too focused on upholding his image as a strongman and a winner is that he loses the overview over the whole picture. Thus, even if Putin conquers Ukraine, he will lose Russia's economic basis of military action and he will lose Russia's influence in other "theaters" (Caucasus, Central Asia, African countries). One way or another, few years from now Putin will be gone, and the name Putin will be associated with Russia's decline, moral decay, and toxic (pseudo) masculinity.

Heute ein kurzer Beitrag über Wladimir Wladimirowitsch Putin oder wie ich ihn nenne "der kleine Großfürst von Moskau, der immer noch ein Kolonialreich haben darf".

Diktatoren und Tyrannen haben oft schwache, neurotische und zerbrechliche Persönlichkeiten. Sie sind in hohem Maße davon abhängig, Macht über andere Menschen auszuüben, um Aufmerksamkeit zu bekommen und Angst zu verbreiten. Sie verfügen zwar über die üblichen kognitiven Fähigkeiten eines Erwachsenen, aber ihre emotionalen Reaktionen sind hoffnungslos unreif.

Ich bin kein Psychologe, aber ich glaube nicht, dass eine solche formale Qualifikation notwendig ist, um bei Putin einen tiefen Minderwertigkeitskomplex festzustellen. Er ist ein strongman, aber kein strong man.

Ein selbstbewusster Mann hat es nicht nötig, sich als Inbegriff von Männlichkeit zu inszenieren.

Es gibt die Geschichte von Merkels Besuch bei Putin in Russland. Da er wusste, dass Merkel eine tiefsitzende Angst vor Hunden hat, ließ Putin seinen Hund in den Raum mit Merkel, die sich sehr unwohl fühlte.

Merkel über Putin:
"Ich verstehe, warum er das tun muss - um zu beweisen, dass er ein Mann ist", sagte Merkel. "Er hat Angst vor seiner eigenen Schwäche. Russland hat nichts, keine erfolgreiche Politik oder Wirtschaft. Alles, was sie haben, ist das hier." (Quelle)

Das Problem eines Mannes, der sich zu sehr darauf konzentriert, sein Image als strongman und Gewinner aufrechtzuerhalten, ist, dass er den Überblick über das Gesamtbild verliert. So wird Putin, selbst wenn er die Ukraine erobert, Russlands wirtschaftliche Grundlage für militärische Aktionen verlieren und er wird Russlands Einfluss in anderen "Schauplätzen" (Kaukasus, Zentralasien, afrikanische Länder) verlieren. So oder so, in ein paar Jahren wird Putin nicht mehr da sein, und der Name Putin wird mit Russlands Niedergang, moralischem Verfall und toxischer (Pseudo-)Männlichkeit assoziiert werden.

Hoy un breve post sobre Wladimir Wladimirowitsch Putin o lo que yo llamo "el pequeño Gran Duque de Moscú que todavía se permite tener un imperio colonial".

Los dictadores y tiranos suelen tener personalidades débiles, neuróticas y frágiles. Dependen en gran medida de ejercer el poder sobre otras personas para recibir atención y miedo. Aunque muestran una cognición adulta común, tienen respuestas emocionales irremediablemente inmaduras.

No soy psicólogo, pero no creo que sea necesaria una cualificación tan formal para identificar un profundo complejo de inferioridad en Putin. Es un hombre fuerte, y todo lo contrario de un hombre fuerte.

Un hombre seguro de sí mismo no necesita ciertamente presentarse como un epítome de la masculinidad.

Está la historia de la visita de Merkel a Putin en Rusia. Sabiendo que Merkel tiene un "miedo profundo a los perros", Putin dejó entrar a su perro en la habitación con Merkel, que se sintió muy incómoda.

Merkel sobre Putin:
"Entiendo por qué tiene que hacer esto: para demostrar que es un hombre", dijo Merkel. "Tiene miedo de su propia debilidad. Rusia no tiene nada, ni política ni economía de éxito. Todo lo que tienen es esto". (fuente

El problema de un hombre demasiado centrado en mantener su imagen de hombre fuerte y ganador es que pierde la visión de conjunto. Así, aunque Putin conquiste Ucrania, perderá la base económica de la acción militar de Rusia y perderá la influencia de Rusia en otros "teatros" (Cáucaso, Asia Central, países africanos). De un modo u otro, dentro de pocos años Putin se habrá ido, y el nombre de Putin se asociará con la decadencia de Rusia, la decadencia moral y la (pseudo)masculinidad tóxica.
