Shopping List - my phone app
I got tired of paper lists, forgetting what to buy, and standing in the store with a blank stare. So I built myself a phone app that does exactly what I needed - nothing more, nothing less.
Shopping List
The main screen is just a list of things to buy. Each product has its category, store, quantity, and price. You can see right away how much you're spending and where. Search by name, filter by store or category, sort however you want - by price, priority, name. When I buy something, I mark it done and it drops to the bottom. Accidentally deleted a product? There's an undo.
I change the quantity directly on the card - plus, minus, no need to open any edit screen. Simple.
Add
This is my favorite tab. Instead of typing "milk, Biedronka, 1 liter" from scratch every time, I have a product history. I tap the cart icon and the product lands on my list. If it's already there - the quantity goes up by 1.
I can add a new product quickly or create a template that sticks around for later. I set up templates once, then add them to the list with a single tap. Everything comes with search and filters, so even with 50 saved products it's still fast.
Cards
Carrying 15 loyalty cards in my wallet is a thing of the past. I enter the card number and store name, and the app generates a barcode and QR code. I tap the card, show the cashier my screen. Works at Biedronka, Lidl, Rossmann - anywhere they scan a card.
Each card has the store's color and logo so I can find the right one fast. Don't need it anymore? Swipe left and delete.
Recipe Import
Found a recipe for apple pie and need the ingredients on my list? I paste the recipe text and the app figures out what's an ingredient and what's an instruction. "2 eggs" becomes a product with quantity 2 and unit pcs. "200g flour" - 200, g. I can uncheck what I already have at home and add the rest with one tap.
If a product is already on the list - the app warns me so I don't buy double.
Shops
Don't know where the nearest grocery store is? This tab uses GPS and shows food stores nearby. I can pick the range - 500 meters, one kilometer, two. You can see the store type (supermarket, bakery, butcher), whether it's open right now, and how far it is. One tap opens navigation in maps.
The app works offline - when I lose signal in the store basement, the list is still there. Changes sync automatically when the internet comes back. The whole family can use the same list because the data lives on a server and syncs across devices.
