I am writing this post because my mother has been suffering from this disease for about 10 years. Since then we are in the fight against this disease and thank God we are on the right track.
We should always take care of our parents as well as ourselves.
There are two types of diabetes, 1 and 2 (which is less aggressive) while still giving it the respect it deserves as a disease.
In these two cases, the reason for their existence is not entirely clear, due to the diversity of their performance and to the patient's own condition, heredity, overweight, etc....
In this case, I will tell you some information about type 2 diabetes, as noted at the beginning, it is the most controllable, and it seems that there are many factors that affect to keep it out of the recommended level and can reduce it and control it.
This condition occurs in adulthood and increases in incidence in the elderly, the main reason being obesity, since adipose tissue produces certain substances that reduce the sensitivity of insulin receptors.
Possible symptoms of elevated glucose include the following:
- Extreme thirst (polydipsia).
- Feeling very hungry (polyphagia).
- The need to urinate continuously, even at night (polyuria).
- Weight loss, despite eating a lot of food.
- Tiredness
- Blurred vision
- Tingling or numbness in the hands and feet
- Recurrent fungal skin infections.
If glucose rises slowly and gradually (usually in type 2 diabetes), symptoms may take years to appear, so the disease may go undetected.
"Just because it doesn't hurt doesn't mean it doesn't hurt, hence the importance of early diagnosis to prevent the onset of complications."
Type 2 diabetes, which is the most frequent, can be prevented. Since the most important cause is obesity, "all actions related to the prevention of obesity - avoiding a sedentary lifestyle, junk food, sugary drinks... - will have a positive result.
That is why it is important to take into account these three pillars: diet, physical exercise and the medications prescribed by your doctor.
This can help maintain blood glucose levels within normal range to minimize the risk of complications associated with the disease.
Diabetes cannot be cured but it can be controlled if properly treated taking into account all of the above.
God bless you and bring you and your family health and prosperity.
