Hi! Hello! 👋
Welcome to another blog post of my Diary of An Apple blog series.

Today's Diary
2018 was when I had the chance to go back to Japan when I quit my first job. Since then, I wasn't able to visit my family due to various reasons. Early 2020, I finally managed to save up for a planned vacation. I remember booking my plane tickets excitedly on January to travel on March that year. But then came the news about Covid. I became worried as countries slowly issued lockdowns and what not. I was still hopeful Philippines and Japan would not be affected. But about a week left before my scheduled fight, everything got cancelled. It was a sad year.
I really believe that everything happens for a reason. Looking back now, even if Covid did not happen, with my situation that year, I really wasn't financially capable of spending even just week-long vacation.
2 years ago, my situation got better and decided to spend my birthday in the Philippines. Finally March this year, I was able to spend almost 2 weeks back home for my birthday. A lot has changed but at the same time it felt like nothing changed. I spent most days at home or the beach. I don't really like going out in crowded places especially when it's hot outside. We only went out to get groceries, visit churches, and a few places. But of course, when going out, I made sure we make the most out of it. So when buying groceries, it meant we have to buy a few weeks or about month worth of food. Go to places on the way to eat food I missed eating. And then spend time to attend mass in churches.
Most days at the beach, I helped my father paint some signboards. Early mornings are mostly low tide, so I took morning walks. During sunset, I revel in the beautiful view of the sun dipping into the horizon.
I wondered when I'd be able to enjoy the slow life in the province. I can't imagine myself settling down in the Philippines but I'd definitely want to spend my vacation days here.

Right now, I'm back in the Philippines for another vacation and enjoying lots of food I've been craving. I'll definitely write another blog for this visit when I'm back in Japan. Maybe I'll write a few more blogs about my previous vacation as well before that.
Thank you for reading and see you on my next blog.
