Good morning! Blessings to everyone reading this on this beautiful morning of May 1st. I hope you are enjoying a nice hot coffee—or perhaps some hot chocolate—whichever you prefer! XD. Well, I’m here today to show you the new drawing I’ve created. As always, it is inspired by one of the lovely cards from the game Rising Star. This time around, I chose the "i103 Karaoke Blue" card. As you can see, it features a very pretty blue microphone.
I should mention that this drawing is part of a series I’m working on, dedicated to illustrations of the microphones found in the game. That means if you haven't seen the previous entries, you can check them out on my blog once you’ve finished reading this post. I also want to invite you to keep an eye out for my upcoming drawings if you’re interested; I’ll be uploading new pieces over the next few days, and it’s always fun to share—and for you to see—the entire creative process from start to finish. Alright, let’s get started with the drawing! The first thing I did was create the classic inner frame for the card—veteran readers of my blog will surely recognize it well. Take a look at how it turned out:
After creating the frame using Adobe Illustrator, I moved on to drawing the microphone itself. I started with the handle—the largest and longest section—and then completed the body's silhouette by drawing the spherical head that sits atop the handle. You can see both parts in the photos below:
Once the body was finished, I drew several internal lines within it to divide the microphone into distinct zones, as each zone requires a different color. Here’s how it looked after I added those lines:
Now comes the most enjoyable part: the coloring! For the outer background, I used a light purple shade to help the microphone stand out visually. As for the frame, the inner background, and various sections of the microphone itself, I colored them using different shades of blue. For the microphone's head, I applied various shades of gray to achieve the desired effect; incidentally, I also used a "digital spray" effect on the head, which adds a unique visual touch. You can view screenshots of the entire process below.
And to wrap things up for today, here is the final result. In this step, I added the name of the game and the card. With that, it was complete. See you for the next drawing—blessings to all.
