It is a pleasure to greet you all, fellow members! I would like to show you my most recent drawing of a new instrument from Rising Star. In this instance, I used the i125 Maracas card as my reference. It is a truly beautiful instrument, steeped in the traditional culture of many different countries.
For those who may not know how it works, let me explain: it consists of two small wooden vessels—or, occasionally, dried gourds. Inside these two vessels are small pebbles, seeds, or even tiny pieces of metal. Both are attached to a wooden handle to make them easier to hold. The sound is produced by shaking the maracas; the seeds inside bounce around and generate the rhythmic sound.
Of course, this requires a great deal of dexterity, as they must be shaken with a steady rhythm; otherwise, they will not stay in time with the music. Well, now I will show you how I created it. First, I designed the card frame.
After that, I drew the two vessels—the parts that, in real life, would contain the seeds inside. They are egg-shaped. Next, I drew a handle beneath each one, since—as I mentioned—that is the part you hold onto when shaking them.
Once I had that ready, I drew three lines inside each maraca. These lines would serve as a guide and aid me later on, as they were going to be a different color. You will see how it turned out in just a moment; I will show you the final result once I have added them.
Now, I am going to show you the painting process. I will walk you through how I painted everything until the maracas were complete. In this section, you can see what I was referring to regarding the colors on the upper vessels.
To finish up, I added the card's name and other important details, just like on the reference card. What do you think? See you in the next drawing!
