Greetings, fellow enthusiasts! Just as I promised yesterday, I’m back today with another drawing from this week—a week focused on the game's common cards. The subject is the i180 IC21x model. As you can see, it’s a lovely light-blue microphone. I absolutely love the color, especially that central band with its blue gradient. I incorporated those details into my drawing exactly as they appear on the original card. In fact, you’ve already caught a glimpse of the drawing on the cover image, but what I’m about to show you now is even more interesting: the step-by-step development of the drawing, from start to finish. Below, I present the entire drawing process in full. To begin—as usual—I started by sketching the card's frame. The result looked like this:
Once the frame was complete, I moved on to drawing the microphone's head—that is, the upper section. Next, I drew the handle. To be honest, it looked just like an ice cream cone—something I always mention because I find it quite amusing. In fact, one day I plan to fill in the silhouette of a microphone like this one to make it look exactly like an ice cream cone. That way, I can create a slightly different style of fan art and take advantage of this microphone's curious design, given the strong resemblance.
In the next step, I added the internal divisions of the microphone to ensure that each distinct area was clearly defined. This helps me later on when painting each section with the correct color, ensuring that the boundaries between them remain visible and preventing the colors from bleeding into one another. With that, the sketch was complete.
Now comes the moment to paint. It was great fun painting each individual section—especially because, as I mentioned earlier, the blue gradients on this microphone are truly beautiful. I started by painting the outer background a shade of yellow. Next, I painted the frame purple, and then filled in the inner background—along with the microphone itself—using various shades of blue. You can see the entire process unfold right here.
And finally, here is the finished drawing. See you in the next post! Blessings to all.
