About 26 and a half years ago, my wife and I used to drink vodka and orange-juice and pretend we were going to write the great American masterpiece! We thought we were incredibly deep, and often discussed topics like the possibility that the world was like a Hydrox cookie, with the gooey stuff in the middle surrounded by hard, dark cosmos on either side. (We were young and foolish then. We are old and foolish now. (Thank you, THEY MIGHT BE GIANTS.))
Tonight, thanks to quarantine (I just thought of a good name for a punk band: The QUARANTEENS. Is that a band already? Probably…) (I looked. It is…)
Tonight, thanks to quarantine, and a quick trip to the grocery store (with a mask on), Mariah bought a fine box of wine for herself and a bottle of St. Brendan’s Irish Crème for me. (It will take me months to drink it all. I’m a “little-bit-in-a-coffee-cup-that-I-sip-on-for-an-hour” kind of drinker. You know the type…) And I THINK we’re going to try to resurrect SCREWDRIVER PRESS (even though neither of us will be drinking a screwdriver. It’s the SPIRIT of the vodka that we’re invoking, not the liquor itself…)
The point is to be silly, smile, make some stuff… I’ll give you a full report in the next few days… Probably… (I don’t know, for sure. I’m pretty busy…)
In other news, I got a new KEYBOARD (a Casio SA-46 mini) in the mail today AND a letters and numbers stamper set. I’m going to be a psychedelic-new-wave freak star, and I’m going to make some home-made postcards! (Excited to get started…)
Unfortunately, the keyboard didn’t come with a power chord (my fault for not checking), and the stamp set didn’t come with INK! HA!!!! It’s a never ending cycle. And here I thought I was going to be the new Animal Collective starting tonight! But, instead, I had to order a wall adaptor for power. Oh well. (Here’s an Animal Collective song to help pass the time…)
Just when you think you’re ready to ROCK, you realize you need ink and power… Happens every time… (That’s okay. We just keep keepin’ on!)
Until the evening comes, however, I’ve got to keep myself entertained. I’ve listened to some tunes, did a bit of journal writing, messed with some bits and bobs, and decided to make some new postcards for the REDBUBBLE page. (I don’t sell much there, maybe $20 or $30 dollars worth of income per year, but I like the site because it allows me to share my weird artwork, PLUS make some cash, AND I can order postcards to send to people. Neat!)
Here’s the newest images on my Red-like-bubble-maaaan…page:

“Little Gitzy Blah”
“Nothing to Report (Again)”
“Wild Boar”
“Wobbly Man (Seeing Things)”
Don’t forget to click that link above and check out my shop. I have almost 500 different designs that you can look at and have a laugh (and maybe get a postcard or t-shirt or clock. I DID actually sell a clock once! Weird…)
Thanks for stopping by! Now I’m off to work on something else! (Maybe I’ll go pick up some stamping ink from the craft store. They have curbside pickup! Damn straight…)
