Love them or hate them, we all know we are surrounded by bots on SteemIt. I appreciate many of them and think most of them add something or they tend to go away.
Posting bots, voting bots, comment bots, bidding bots, oh what a lot of bots there are.
It makes perfect sense that the majority of bots are focused on earning, but we could also consider automating the process of finding some of the abuses. Some of these might already be out there. If so let me know in the comments.
Here is my wishlist for bots:
CommentCounter.. This bot checks comments if the "commenter" has made the exact same comment more than twice, this bot replies to the comment with the number of times the same account has made that exact comment.
If we had this it would eliminate many of the comment bots. It could whitelist accounts like Steemcleaners, and Steemboards
FlagInfo: This bot looks for flags, when it finds a flag it posts information about the account... number of flags, the account has received by how many unique users. (pure laziness, so I don't have to look at the account, if the number is high, I might look)
VotingBotWatcher: This bot posts a daily list of posts that received more rewards from Paid Bots than Voters. To be clear, I have no problem with people using bots to give their post visibility and even to maximize rewards. If you are paying for votes and your content is so boring that no one but the bot is looking at it, that doesn't seem to add value. (Argue with me on this one)
The report might look like this:
Post link, Author, Rewards, Percentage of VotingBot rewards, those who were interested could review the post, Author and other contributions and determine if they want to flag
WhatsHot: Okay this doesn't have to do with abuse, it is kind of a locator of "Interesting Things"... the idea is that this bot posts a report each day of the top 10 (Flagged/Comments) posts to assist with finding topics that are invoking a strong emotional response. There would have to be a "Math Thing" in the bot where it did some calculation of positive and negative votes combined with many comments.
What tasks do you wish we could automate on SteemIt?
