¿Dónde Bucear?
Tenía recomendados: Marsa Alam (está bien al sur y me dijeron que podía haber algún que otro tiburón), Dahab (al norte, dicen que es muy bueno para bucear, especialmente para profesionales porque hay varias cuevas y está el famoso “agujero azul”, un gran cráter profundo en el que ha habido muchos accidentes). Cerquita de Dahab está la ciudad de Sharm el-Sheij que dicen es una de las ciudades más baratas del mundo para hacer buceo y Hurgada (donde finalmente hice el curso)
Where to dive
I´ve been recommended: Marsa Alam (in the south but with sharks), Dahab (in the north. It's very good for diving, specially for professional because there are several caves and the famous “blue hole” a large deep crater in which there have been many accidents). Near Dahab is Sharm el-Sheij one of the cheapest cities in the world for diving. In the middle of the country is Hurghada, other recommended place in which I'd done the course.
Buceo
Antes de “firmar contrato” me cerciore de que la escuela de buceo que elegí (hay varias) sea confiable y seria, además busqué en internet su reputación y opiniones que me brindaran seguridad.
Pague por adelantado 150 euros y me encargaron el manual para estudiar. El curso en cuestión me costó 380 euros en septiembre 2019.
Diving
Before I “signing the contract” I made sure that the school I chose (there are several) was serious and confiable. Besides I searched on the net it´s reputation and opinions that would give me security.
I paid an advance 150 euros and then they ordered the Manual for studying. The course cost 380 euros in september 2019.
Generalidades
Yo hice el curso con PADI que es la escuela de buceo más grande en el mundo pero podes optar por otra, como por ejemplo SSI. Todas te proveerán de una credencial internacional. O sea que podes ir a bucear a cualquier parte de acuerdo a tu nivel. Hay 12 niveles de buceo.
Yo comencé con el nivel 2 (Open Water Diver). Nunca antes había buceado pero estaba segura de querer hacerlo para seguir buceando por el mundo. Si vos no estas segura/o, podes hacer buceos bautismos y luego decidir si sacar la credencial.
El nivel 2 te permite bucear a una profundidad de 18 m (59 pies) y ser autónomo e independiente en la gestión del equipo de aire y no se requiere de un profesional como compañero de buceo.
General matters
I did the course with PADI which is the larger diving school in the world but you can choose for other one, such as SSI. All the schools will provide you with an international credential so you can go diving anywhere according to your level. There are 12 levels of diving. I started with level 2 (Open water diver). I have never dive before but I was sure I wanted to do it to continue diving around the world. If you are not sure you can do baptism dives.
Level 2 allows you to dive to a depth of 18 m (59 ft) and be autonomous and independent in the management of your dive equipment. Besides it's not necessary that your partner is a professional.
Aprendiendo buceo
Te voy a contar mi experiencia de aprendizaje.
El curso duró 3 días. Me iban a buscar al hotel a eso de las 7.30 y me regresaban 17.30/18 hs. ( almuerzo incluido).
Día 1: miras un video, el cual te explica lo que dice el libro (completo y detallado).
Día 2: vimos el tanque de oxígeno y como se arma todo el equipo. Repasamos lo básico del buceo y fuimos a la pileta a practicar.
Día 3: Pasamo todo el dia en el yate, con un sol hermoso, en el Mar Rojo que es de un turquesa que no se puede creer. No te olvides del protector solar y cubrirte porque no te das cuenta y ¡te quemas! Bajamos unos cuantos metros en el mar e hicimos un par de ejercicios más. Luego buceamos un rato (¡increíble!). A la tarde hice el test (multiple choice).
El test, junto con 2 fotos 4x4 (que te van a solicitar al principio) y planilla de datos (tuyos y del instructor), lo mandan a la central de PADI (los de Egipto van a Reino Unido) para hacer la certificación que aproximadamente en un mes te estará llegando a tu domicilio postal. (Te dan un papel provisorio para bucear mientras tanto)
Learning to dive
I'm going to tell you about my experience.
The course lasted 3 days. They picked me up at the Hotel at about 7.30 am and they took me back at 18 pm (lunch was included).
Day 1: I watched the video which explain all what the book says.
Day 2: we saw the equipment and how to prepare it. we Review the basics of diving and then we go to the pool for practise.
Day 3: Finally to the sea! we spent all day in the yacht with a beautiful sun in the red sea that is amazing turquoise. (Don't forget to take sunglasses and sunscreen to protect yourself from the sun or you will burn!). We went down a few meters into the sea, we did a couple of practical exercises and we dived for a while (it's awesome!). In the afternoon I did the test (multiple choice).
The test, along with 2 4x4 photos (they will ask you to bring them at the beginning) and some information, will be sent to PADI headquarters (Egypt send it to U.K) where they make the credentials. In approximately 1 month it will be delivered to your home address. (you can dive during that month with a provisory paper)

A unique experience you can't miss. It's another world. You have to do it at least once!
