It's wonderful how much junk accumulates over the years.
It seems that the first few weeks was all about dragging all the junk into the pile and trying to clean up some space. There is a separate space over the garage that was also packed with useless stuff.
Dragging it out downstairs did not seem like a rational option so i took out one of the windows and decided to throw it away.
I do not know about other countries, but elderly people in Lithuania tend to keep everything, so it might come to use "some day in the future". This is probably related to big shortage times while living under the repression of the Soviet Union and it extends to unhealthy levels, like keeping old magazines or empty coffee packs, neatly sorted out and tied into bundles.
Finally the majority of junk went through the window and added to the main pile later on.
In the heat of the cleanup i accidentally threw away the window frame i took out to make way for the rubbish lol Had to improvise with a smaller one i found in the junk pile. It was not a perfect fit so i had to think how to fix the gap that resulted because of size differences. Some of the junk still remains in the attic as i am sorting it and putting metal scrap separately to turn it it for a few EUR once i call in the metal guys. Ofc i could not throw away some old books for ethical reasons that will need to be put into some shelves once this phase comes, but first things first.
