I have been fully consumed by remodeling projects for the past month, and probably will be for the next month too.
Now that it’s warmed here in the north, summer on some days, it’s the best time to do all sort of sanding and painting projects. In theory I can paint in the wintertime too but it’s much more enjoyable when you can have windows open day and night to air out the fumes. I also learned from my mistake of using linseed oil paint too late in the autumn last year and it took a week to dry one layer because it’s a very slow paint that needs warmth, air and light (so that the white doesn’t yellow) to cure.
I’m doing lots of different things, finishing up some stuff in the library, complete surface level remodel of the bathroom and probably next up painting the entryway.
I’m basically just cleaning and doing preparations like moving stuff and taping for days on end, then painting a bit and again more cleanup. I hate living in chaos but I love sprucing up the home.
Basically everything I do now is for the first time and I’m hard headed so I do first and think aften and often cause myself more work but it’s all so worth it in the end. I’m insane because aside from something like plumbing, I believe I can do it all.
