This DIY Home Reno Results Were Beyond My Own Expectations. My Husband and I Went into This Project Having Never Tackled Any Reno Quite Like This. We Did a Lot of Online Educating and Also Picked the Ears of the Employees at Home Depot and Ceramic Decor.
This was What We Started Out With... An Ugly Fireplace and a Very Boring Wall for Our TV to Hang :/
And This My Friends is Our New Very Sexy Stone Wall!
The Entire Project for All of the Stone, Mantles, Trim and Installation Materials Cost Less Than $700!!! :O
For the Stone Wall We Purchased Ledger Stone in Sierra From Ceramic Decor and Also Rented From Them the Wet Saw We Needed for Cutting.

We Were Informed That the Product is Very Difficult to Cut and to Expect a Lot of Broken Pieces When Trying to Cut it. However We Didn't Have a Single One Break! Perhaps We Had a Very Sharp Blade on the Wet Saw? Regardless We Took Our Time Cutting.
The Whole Wall Installation Despite it Taking About 10 Hours for My Husband and I To Complete We Got into a Good Rhythm with Only a Couple Difficult Spots That Took Some Extra Time to Get Through and Got the Whole Project Done in 1 Very Long Day! I Measured and Marked the Stone for My Husband to Cut and After I Glued The Veneer to the Wall After Handing Him His Next Measured Stone to Cut.
For the Floating Mantles We Went for a Beautiful and Rustic Look of Live Edge Wood.
Lastly we Used a Grey Wash Barnboard to Frame the Fireplace and Built a Harth, Then Matched Window Trim to Tie it All Together. This Wall Transformed Our Cozy Living Room in a Way That Paint Never Could Have.
