At work we decomissioned and old computer system that we ran for over a decade. One of the things we had to do was destroy the system before we disposed of it.
I took some of the logic boards from the SSD Flash Drives and cast them in resin to give to the supervisors that worked on the system for the bulk of their careers.
It took three pours to get the piece cast. I did have a problem with the set and slight imperfections in the resin. It took a lot of polishing to make it come out.
I made the base out of some scrap wood I had lying around. I cut a Dado on my mini Table Saw and set it with some UV Epoxy Resin.
I gave them to the supervisors and bosses to remember the system that was a big part of their careers.
