Today i decided to do a do-it-yourself(DIY) project that i have wanted to do for a while. I got the inspiration from being at work and constantly loosing my pens. I thought what i needed was a penholder. I then thought that i need a really cool one. So i immediately went online to try and find something that was creative but all what came up was really really weird stuff. So i thought i could make mine. I then looked up diy pencil holders and i found a really cool one on saranyajo.blogspots.com. So i did it with the steps outlined below.
The first step was to cut out some bubble wrap paper in any shape. I did a flower and diamond shape.
These are all the items that i used in the project. I had to go to Walmart to get the items that were missing like the mini-paint and the paint brushes.
I started by applying glue to the glass pen holder- I have to say I could have used it by itself cause it looked nice too, but i had to do this to add a little home made touch to it and a little extra coolness.
Next thing that i did was wrap the knitting tread around the glass. The process was a bit messy.
Next step was applying a little glue to the rim of the glass and lightly pressing it on glitter. Its important to let any glue work set when necessary. The last step was gluing the bubble wrap to the sides of the glass together with some gems and letting them set.
Of course you would have to paint over the bubble wrap. Unfortunately i only bought the blue color so i used my nail polish at home to complete the work.
What do you guys think of this project? I had a good time doing it and watching it turn into this was pretty awesome.
