If your cat loves catnip my boyfriend, Josh, found a very inexpensive way to make a toy for your beloved fuzz ball. Catnip has sedative effects and it can help calm cats down, reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. But, it does make them hyper for a short bit before that. I was recommended by our vet to use catnip with our lazy old kitty. It has helped her a lot!
This toy is fairly cheap and easy to make. It has the ability to burst or be torn open which our cat, Pheona, loves.
What you will need:
- A cat, preferably your own, don't steal one.
- Dried catnip, you can buy in bulk or little vials.
- Muffin Paper.
- A piece string.
- Something to stab the toy with, doesn't need to be sharp.
Step One:
Put some catnip inside the muffin paper.
Step Two:
Twist the muffin paper ends closed.
Step Three:
Tie it with a piece of string, or multiple, leave one string long for holding.
Step Four:
Stab the toy, gently, so the cat will wanna claw it open. He used a stick to poke through.
Step Five:
ENJOY!
If you make one please post about it and tag me in it!
