I had a feeling that I was beyond the Point of No Return a long time ago. Now those feelings have been confirmed due to the piles of parts laying all over the garage. I sure hope this works out in the end....
So before I get all wound up in my day I thought I would share a little update on the repair project on the 2005 Lincoln Navigator with a 5.4 Triton V8 3-valve. I have made some real progress in the last couple days. After working a 10 hour day I have been working an hour to an hour and a half on this project in the evenings.
Out With the Old and in With the New

I did manage to find a few more pieces of the broken Timing Chain Guide in the Oil Pick Up Tube. Plus I did some cleaning on it while it was out. That thing will be sucking oil like nobodies business!!
As of now there are a lot more parts coming off this rig than are going on. Many of them get put back on but some get changed just do to the fact that, “Hey while you are in there...”
All the Timing components are off the front of the engine. Those will be replaced with all new bright and shiny parts!
With my new favorite tool, removing the camshafts was a piece of cake!! This little air ratchet saved me soo much time it was incredible!!! Now I am sitting here wondering why I never bought one before... silly guy!!
What’s left??? A Lot!!! I have some sensors I need to buy, an oil pan gasket, an evaporator for the A/C, camshafts and roller/rockers need to Be inspected, and a lot of parts and gasket surfaces that need a real good cleaning before they got put back together.
