Imagine living under a government that doesn't allow citizens to own firearms for self-defense, and then losing a loved one to some murderer with a firearm. It's not enough that you can't have a gun to defend yourself from aggressors with knives, blunt weapons, acid, etc... but apparently they can even get their hands on guns in your country.
