Last year India's capital Delhi witnessed a massive pollution and smog just after Diwali - "The festivals for Light". The PM 2.5 and 10 pollutant Levels reached 999 m.g per cubic meter, while the safe limits for those pollutants are 60 and 100 respectively. According to the survey by WHO from 1600 world cities, Delhi's Air quality is the worst of any major city in the world.
To prevent last year's Great Smog situation, the Supreme Court of India has put some restriction on burning the Firecrackers, as per Supreme court decision one can only burn firecracker in between 8 PM to 10 PM.
I think this is a great decision by supreme court because pollution is a great threat to Delhi and entire India.
