Rahaf story is not the first when women fled from a place of restricted freedom to a place of legitimate freedom.
I used the term "legitimate freedom" instead of just "freedom", as that may connote absolute freedom, which is impossible if people are to live in a society, respecting each others' rights. Notwithstanding that when freedom is restricted to the extent it takes away a person's dignity to live a normal life, then the human spirit, which only knows freedom, will revolt, sooner or later.
Women in many Islamic countries and even is some non-Islamic countries live under circumstances and conditions which restrict their freedom to such an extent that their potential is thwarted consequently denying the countries of the contributions women could make.
