In the long term, censorship just wouldn't work in this modern era. It may work to the advantage of google and apple in the short run, but if they persist it will simply annoy users and that will encourage new competitors to enter the market to take advantage of the lack.
This will in turn eat into the market share of google and apple in the long run.
They are just digging their own grave.
