I have heard about @DLike before but I wanted to dig in and see what it is all about.

Initial, knee-jerk reaction is that the site looks smooth. It is obviously Pinterest inspired, as it says in the introduction post.
First Look
The two views: Grid (Pinterest) and List are okay, I would like to see more options. In addition: the List format left a lot to be desired. I would like to see more room for the title as well as additional room for the first couple lines of text. I would also like to see (when clicked on) more text from the article it is shared from.
Criticism
The criticisms of @DLike can easily be seen in the comments from the introduction post.
The main concern comes from the idea that there are already enough link sharing posts on the Steem blockchain, and that encouraging users to leave the blockchain isn't a great idea.
My response to that mirrors closely to what is said in the defense of DLike: There is a use for it and it helps bring more users to the platform.
But, the question remains: what does it do to add value to the blockchain?
What type of environment (community) does it foster?
I kind of knew the answer before I even looked into it.
You know what I'm talking about, so I won't go TOO in depth on it.
I was first interested to know how @DLike supported the users. Surely, there must be incentive to use the platform, right? People will chase the rewards so there has to be that reason to use it.
They go into the breakdown of upvotes based on user score. The maximum upvoted posts is 5 with the maximum comments upvoted is 10. Most of the upvote percentage is reserved for comments rather than posts.
I think you know where I am going with this.
1- I feel it encourages posting more on quanity than quality.
2- I feel it encourages fake engagement.
3- I feel in many ways it takes the worst of the Steem Blockchain and puts it in one easy-to-access dApp.
That really isn't such a bad thing, is it?
That being said, I did find some pretty interesting articles.

This is part of an attempt to try out as many dApps as I can and give an initial reaction, suggest improvements, and give an honest assessment of what I feel about the project.
