Today evidence is secondary, self interest is foremost. The Republicans who against all evidence found Trump not guilty of a clear crime against the interests of America will go down in history as examples of corrupt government. They voted against the calling of witnesses which in any other court in a Democracy would not be allowed. Disgust and contempt is what they deserve. A Supreme court judge who ruled over this travesty of justice deserves to be asked to resign from office by the next government.
