Pakistan defeated Afghanistan by 8 wickets in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup, losing only 138 runs.
Afghanistan won the toss and elected to bat first in the ACC Emerging Teams Asia Cup match at Bangladesh's Cox's Bazar, with Pakistan's half-bowled half-team Afghanistan returning to the pavilion by 74 runs. For the sixth wicket Captain Munir Ahmed and Waheedullah added 46 runs, Munir Ahmed remained top scorer with 41 runs, thus the whole Afghan team was reduced to 138 runs in 42.2 overs, Mohammad Mohsin bowled out four for 30 runs, Khushal Shah and Emad Butt took 2,2 wickets.
In the pursuit of the target, the opening pair comprising of Imir bin Yousuf and Haider Ali provided a confident start of 50 runs. An unbeaten 70-run partnership gave the Green Shirts an easy win, Rohil Nazir scored an incredible 52-run innings with 2 fours and a six, while captain Saud Shakil scored 31 not out.
The National Emerging Team achieved the target in 35.3 overs, playing their second match against Sri Lanka on November 16 in the Green Shirts event.
