House Democrats vote to reopen government and deny Trump wall money, defying veto threat

On the first day of business, the new House passed a bill to reopen the government. This was done late Thursday. It was immediately shot down by Republicans and the President. The bill provided for funding of many parts of the government. It did not include funding for a wall on the Mexican border.
