England are very close to the biggest event of the year and they are still finding things out. It has to be said that they aren't 100% ready for the Ashes as they're still finding ways to come good with their top order batting woes.
Because of this, they're trying to persuade Joe Root to bat up the order at no. 3. But Root has made it clear in the past that he likes to bat at 4 but not 3. Being the captain, it's he who has to decide at the end.
If Root bats at no. 3, England can bat Roy at 4 and open with Joe Denly and Burns. There are concerns about the top order that England need to fix sooner than later.
