Eighteen states are considering passing bills that will leave President Trump off the ballot in 2020 unless he releases his tax returns. His claim is that he is being audited and cannot do it which is untrue. He could release them if he wanted.
Legal experts believe the states would be within their rights although many asset it will open a slippery slope. Republicans could retaliate with measures that left Democrats off their ballots.
