Hello again from the beautiful Dominican Republic. To see my previous video of my time in the DR, click here.
So waking up again in the Dominican Treehouse Village we made the short drive into Samana to walk across a bridge that spans over the ocean to a couple islands in the Samana Bay.
First we needed to stop by a clothing store to pick up some swimming shorts for Louis and Joram. After that we went to the bridge that is very close to town. You can see it from the main part of town. The thing with this bridge is that it is abandoned. The construction on it was never fully completed so there are gaps in it that makes some people nervous to walk across plus it looks like its delapidating from lack of care.
The bridge goes over the ocean and ends on a couple islands which are also abandoned. On these islands are abandoned buildings that were never fully constructed. It looked like it might be a restaurant that was supposed to go up but was never finished. We couldn't really figure out what it was supposed to be.
It was a really unique adventure to be exploring these abandoned places by walking across an abandoned bridge. We looked up the place on Google and one source said that it was supposed to be a cafe on the island but was never finished. Probably due to money running out.
After some coconut water and pineapple we decided to go to a beach to relax. We drove further along the peninsula until we reached La Playita, a small beach with beautiful Caribbean blue water and soft white sand. We also enjoyed a seafood meal there too.
Stay tuned for tomorrow's video where we try to get out onto the water but had some malfunctions along the way. Be sure you're following me for more awesome videos.
