A week ago I decided to give away a couple of silver coins, two half-ounce coins to be exact. All I asked to gain entry was that another steemit user nominate the people to be included in the draw. I also added some wildcard entries selected from those who had actually nominated someone else and so today 31 steemit users had the opportunity to get the silver coins.
The idea was to get the steemit community to engage with each other and to offer some gratitude to a peer with, essentially, no gain at all other than the pleasure of showing gratitude itself. Of course there was the chance to get selected as a wildcard entrant but I limited that to only a few so it was small odds. The opportunity to pay some gratitude forward was the big prize.
Anyway, the draw was done today, by me, and because I'm not great with a video camera and wanted to do it in one take it's pretty shitty however it gets the job done.

To everyone else who was nominated by their peers or entered by me as a wildcard, commiserations however you have the benefit of knowing the person you nominated is (hopefully) very grateful and that's worth something right? Thank you to everyone who participated. I may do this again in this, or some other format, however no matter how it rolls out it will have a community-aspect and require nothing but community-spirit and the sense of gratitude at it's heart.
