Our Crunch is back!
Our Crunch was lost
It was last Sinulog Mardi Gra when Crunch ran out of nowhere into the super busy crowd. The street was full of people celebrating the festival and big floats for the parade. It happened when my aunt accidentally left the door unclosed and Crunch saw the opening and went out unnoticed.
After they had found out that the dog wasn't inside the house, my cousin, Bless Marie (the owner) abruptly screamed and ran out to look for him. The fear of losing the pet rose up, especially when the road started to be filled with the celebrating people. It was almost impossible to find small puppy on the congested road.
Call for help
Then she turned to social media to ask netizens if somebody has found her missing cutie Shih-poo.
Then we, her family, cousins, and friends, helped her in sharing the post and updating it from time to time while keeping our eyes on the busy road with the hopes of seeing the pet even just a glimpse behind the walking people. The post was shared 88 times.
Out of desperation, she then contacted pet organizations online such as @IslandRescueOrganization and @WeAreProudGuardiansOfAspinsAndPuspins to help us disseminate the search.
At about 4 pm, I hastily ran to a dog which I thought was Crunch. Oh, it was so awkward when they checked that it was not her puppy but just a look alike. Deym! Hahaha.
Then at the end of the festival, they pasted this announcement to every street light post or corner they could attach it.
After that day, I intentionally filtered Crunch's picture in black and white format. I posted it as my 7th entry to the black and white challenge. See it here.
Somebody found Crunch!
Then two hopeless days had passed, one woman suddenly turned on the bright light of hope and commented on my cousin’s post saying her nephew found the dog.
Thanks to Leame Ashton who reached my cousin to return Crunch and to her cousin Mark Anthony Paras who actually was the one found the puppy.
Crunch is now finally home, and we are so happy! My cousin wept with tears of joy upon taking the wandering puppy. hahaha!
We would like to thanks the people who shared the posts and helped us in searching. If you only know how happy my cousin again, being with her beloved. I know some can feel the joy she has right now. The joy that seems like can’t be compared to any feeling. Again, on her behalf, THANK YOU!
