We reached the coast yesterday evening on my birthday and we both couldn't be happier. Warm weather and palm trees are like heavenly scenery to us at the moment.
I am thinking that we will just hike the coastline west and go towards California and possibly make our journey to Slab City.
But we may decide to take a trial in New Mexico or even Arizona, we are just glad to be in thd warm beach sunshine for now.
Galveston island has a lot of history and the walk downtown is really spectacular. There are as lot of esoteric shops with very wonderful people and items.
The shopping here is definitely choice for the traveling nomadic types auch as myself.
So far the energy and atmosphere of the island has me and recharging and gearing up for a great hike that has been a long time coming.
