Not a whole wide world, not the whole universe. Just a part of it.
Bubble it off, flat earth style. Lots of dog villages.
Hear my prayer:
Dogs (and for that matter cats) evolved around humans. They're comfortable around us and seem to love us and depend on us.
So unlike a bird or a rabbit or a snake who are absolutely wrecked and not built to want to live in a little cage and be your pet, a dog, I think, is very happy around people and wouldn't want it any other way.
But there are issues.
They must be on a leash. They must use the restroom when we decide it's time or get the hint. They eat the food we pick for them. They want to chase birds and we yank them back. They want to run and sniff your neighbor, but people decorum says no. They want to explore next to someone's window or front door, and we pull them away. They find a chicken bone and we take it out of their mouth.
Even if you try to give them everything they want, there comes a point where they've sniffed the pole for too many minutes and you just need to move on. Our interests aren't perfectly aligned in this sense.
It's very clunky, and we ruin some of their best moments.
If we care about dogs, why not make it perfect? Build an environment that's inherently tailored for them, rather than logjam them into mainstream living situations.
Closed communities where dogs are free to roam.
Big communities. Maybe some smaller ones, some yuge ones. Everything is designed to be safe and fun for the dogs.
And if you live there you know it's a dog land and what you're getting into. And if you want to be a dog person, then you live in one of those lands.
No cars. (Or, the roads are walled off or the cars are self-driving and never hit anything.)
Dogs aren't leashed and "owned". They'll choose their people however they'd like. Maybe some would attach to one person, and maybe others would roam and freelance.
You should be in it for the dogs, not for your ego.
They'll have dog friends who they gravitate towards too, and may roam in packs.
Food can be grown by the AI robots, at ground level where the dogs can reach it.
"DOGS ARENT VEGANS THO THEY NEED MEAT". Fine. The robots will grow meat. Perfectly tailored, whatever kind of meats are best for them. But we'll give them some carrots too.
I'm not sure if dogs are good at self-regulating their food. We assume that they aren't, but also we don't let them try and learn and get used to it. Anyways, the AI could scan their pupils and make sure no one is overeating.
You know what else? The robot drones can scour the world for road kill and other dead animals, whenever it's a bone or an animal that's good for the doggies.
Delivery!!!
Can you picture the excitement, when the dogs see the roadkill bot circling above and coming in for a landing?
Epic.
Can we have this please?
We probably need the hierarchy to go away.
The dog's life is kind of a reflection of our life.
We too are tamed and managed.
I'll take all of the land they said, whatever hundreds of years ago. πΊπΈ πͺπΊ π¨π³ π·πΊ π¦πΊ
Ocean to ocean.
All the land is magically owned by this small cadre of people, because basically they say so, and it's now illegal to settle it. Unless you pay them (for unoccupied, unimproved land that nature gave us). π₯΄π₯΄
You need permission too. You probably need to explain what you'll be doing with this land, and it better not be anything weird.
NO you will not commune voluntarily upon that land. You will not filter and select for the people who most perfectly fit your lifestyle and visions. Feelings will be hurt. You will be difficult to manage and control. Anyone who has money to pay for it shall become your neighbor, and then you will live behind closed walls with televisions and rarely ever talk to each other.
THAT'S what a community shall be.
Pay attention to the rules. If you ignore them, they'll lock you in a cage and shoot you if you resist.
I guess that's kind of how the dog feels when you yank him away from the neighbor. He's used to it. He's adaptable. But it isn't right.
