Week 17 (December 2018)
Welcome to Recent Developments. In this series I post about domain names that sold recently and have since become developed into an actual website. In other words, this is a focus on end user sales and what they are doing with their recent domain purchase!
End user info in the domain name industry can be extremely valuable. You can learn a lot from this type of data, because it shows you what an end user price was for a particular domain name. Hopefully you can apply that knowledge to your own domain investing both on the buy as well as the sale side. If you know what people are willing to pay for a domain it can help you price your domains right to sell.
On top of all that, it's fun to see what's new on the web!
Domains Recently Developed
I've got another 3 domains that sold a few months ago. Today we've got two four figure sales and a five figure sale that have been recently developed. Enjoy!
MethodHealth.com
The first domain is MethodHealth.com. It's a two word .com that sold for $1,750 on October 10th, 2018 at BuyDomains. Looks like the new owner is a health and wellness related business.
According to their site,
Method Health provides men, women and children with physician directed programs that promote vibrant health and wellness. Method Health’s goal is to bring an integrative approach to patient care that merges the latest in scientifically-validated treatment protocols with the best of conventional medical therapies.
As for the domain, I like it. I think it's a solid 2 word brand that ends in .com and is easy to say and remember. It's the kind of name I would invest in and I think the price they paid was cheap!
DNATests.org
Next we have DNATests.org. This domain sold for $4,488 on October 10th, 2018 at BuyDomains. The site looks like an informational site about various DNA tests on the market.
According to their site,
Dnatests.org is an online initiative meant to inform about different DNA tests that you can have performed through various websites. The most common DNA tests to be requested are the genealogy and paternity tests. The DNA test that can give you insight into your health and diet is also becoming increasingly popular. A fourth type of test in an examination that allows you to screen yourself or, for instance, an unborn baby, for the likelihood of congenital diseases. But how reliable is all of this? And which test is the best? We have mapped out everything in our comparison table.
It's not my favorite domain, but it's okay. I don't typically like domains that have a combination of words and letters or acronyms but DNA is one that pretty much everyone knows so that makes it a little easier to say or understand when you hear it. It's a .org which is okay too, but ultimately this is not the kind of name that I would have invested in. Great price for the seller though!
Path.net
Finally, we have our five figure domain, Path.net. This domain sold for $22,000 on October 11th, 2018 at Sedo. It appears to be a network monitoring service company using a monitoring node network.
According to their site,
Path is revolutionizing the uptime and performance monitoring industry by using distributed nodes powered by everyday users. With a monitoring network offering unprecedented global coverage, Path's powerful analytics give invaluable insight into website, application, and network uptime and performance.
I'm normally not a .net guy but this is a great domain. It's a killer one word but the price really shows how much .net is devalued against .com. If this were Path.com it would be a high six figures to possibly 7 figure domain! Either way, it's a solid name even with the .net.
Anyway, that concludes this edition of Recent Developments.
