I actually disagree with you on this one. While yes, there will always be a few screwed up individuals who will use the technology for bad, think about the good that can come out of it too! The ability to transfer consciousness to a machine would entail unlimited life for individuals. It would allow individuals to explore all corners of the universe without the need of eating, sleeping, or any hinderances to a normal human being. The ability to upload a consciousness to a machine would be the ultimate pinnacle of transhumanism! The final hurdle for Man to solve in the quest for immortality and omnipotence in the universe!
