I don't understand the question.
If you send $0.035, and you (would) receive only $0.01, then you (would) lose $0.025.
But you can't receive $0.01, because the payout threshold on the Steem blockchain is $0.02, so you would not get anything in this case.
Except, if other people also upvote the post.
In other worlds, you would lose $0.035.
This is clearly unprofitable.
But if the profit is $0.01 (you would get a payout of $0.045), then that is depending on the person.
I would not waste my time for $0.01 profit.
I rarely boost my posts (buy upvotes), but if I do, then I would like to have at least $0.10 profit on it.
You can calculate your investment and the ROI (Return on Investment) with Smartsteem.
Nowadays there is a fixed 10% ROI (5% BONUS for limited time) on Smartsteem.
