Ukraine was never a threat to Russia. Ukrainian people were going about their business peacefully before Putin showed up.
If, on that day, February 24 2022 (the start of the Ukraine war), Putin had instead announced the start of the DragonFly Asteroid Miner SuperProject on SpaceShipEarth, Putin would be a big man today. 300,000 + Russian soldiers (fathers, husbands, sons and brothers) would still be alive, and 65,000 + amputees would still have all their limbs.
