Greetings fellow Steemians, it has been quite a while since I last posted, the flu had me down for too long! I was also busy playing Starcraft badly on my nice new laptop. I have something special for you today, a true story about a special dog named Daisy, a mixed breed, possible greyhound, border collie and husky.
A Happy Ending for Daisy
Daisy arrived from an animal rescue near Calgary. She was a victim of terrible abuse with an illegal sled dog group. The owner was known to strike the dogs with a PVC pipe to keep them in order. Daisy spent her life outside on a chain and had severe PTSD. My friend Scott and his wife needed to get professional assistance to work with her.
Unfortunately, the day Daisy arrived, Scott received terrible news that his brother Tom had passed away suddenly. Scott was really not up for a dog at this time as he was also grieving the loss of his dog Maple. After about one month, Daisy approached Scott for a scratch, and when he stopped she pawed his leg for more, but at the same time cowering in fear. He said aloud "Oh, let me guess, we are going to help each other heal." Scott shared an emotional moment with Daisy and from that point onward they bonded for life. Daisy still has issues with PTSD, but has learned to love and be loved.

P.S. If anyone has a highly detailed photo of their dog, I would love to draw him/her for you and make a post like this. Feel free to message me or leave a link to your image in the comments.
