Gregg Allman Charcoal Drawing {Plus Time-lapse!}

Painting may be my main jam, but drawing was my first love and I still dabble! Charcoal is so fun wiping out highlights and getting messy! Here is my Gregg Allman memorial drawing I finished last year and haven't had the chance to share anywhere.

I tried to get a full time-lapse video, but my camera died after about 15 minutes or so. This is the fun part to watch anyway. The end would have just been me being super finicky about details. I started with vine charcoal which is much softer and easier to manipulate and lift. This way I can figure out all my proportions before going in with compressed charcoal that lays down dark and is more permanent.
